BIRTH ANNOUNCEMENT
Congratulations to the McKinzie family.
On July 2, 200, Brian McKinzie, Jr. and Jill became the
proud parents of a baby girl,
Tara Alexis. She weighed 7
lbs. 6 oz. and 19" long, at 10:47 p.m.

in Topeka. First grandchild for very proud Grandpa, Brian McKinzie, Sr., Pipefitter member. Her Great Grandpa, Frank
McKinzie is also a member of the local.

RECENT MEMORIAL

DEATH BENEFIT NUMBER AT L95
Retired Member, Wilford T. Monasmith, 85, of Garden City,
Missouri passed away July 2, 2008. He was initiated June 6,
1951 and retired February 1, 1987. He’s been a member in
good
standing for 57 years.

Bob Burks is at the Union Hall every
Tuesday afternoon from 1:00 P.M. to 4:30 P.M. and later at
Union Meeting held the first Tuesday night of each month.

FIVE YEAR APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM
The Training Center takes applications for the
Apprenticeship program the first Monday of each month from
8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M... If the first Monday is a holiday,
it will be the following Monday. Applications can only be
picked up that Monday, but may
be returned any Monday
through Friday between 8:00 A.M. &
4:00 P.M. If you know
anyone interested in applying for the apprenticeship, please
have them call (816) 761-8800 and ask for the information
line where they can get additional information.

VALVE REPAIR JOURNEYMAN CLASS
The
Training Center is looking at running a Valve Repair
Journeyman Class if we have enough participation. For
Journeyman members interested, please call the Training

ORBITAL WELDING CLASS
The Training Center is looking at running an Orbital
Welding
Class if we have enough participation. For members
interested, please call the Training Center at (816)

- REFRIGERANT 410A SAFETY TRAINING AND CERTIFICATION
PROGRAM
The Training Center is providing Refrigerant 410A
Training and Certification Classes for members of
Pipefitters LU 533. Please contact the Training Center to
enroll in the class.
- OSHA 10 CLASS
Will be offered, please contact the
Training Center at (816) 761-8800 to sign up.

- RETIREES
On Wednesday, August 20TH, the Retirees will once
again have their annual ICE CREAM SOCIAL complete with
flavors, cones, sundaes, sprinkles and toppings. We will
have our usual luncheon at NOON, doors open at 11:00. As
usual we ask you to bring a covered dish and your own place
settings, drinks will be provided. Bring Cookies for dessert
to go with the ice cream. The always popular BINGO will be
played; cash prizes. Get in out of the heat
for a couple of hours. Taste the great lunch that is always
provided and visits with old friends. We are looking forward
to seeing everyone.
