DEATH BENEFIT NUMBER AT M19
Carrol E. Grantham, 77, of Kansas City, Missouri passed away
December 16, 2009. He was initiated September 9, 1968 and
retired September 1, 1994. He’s been a member for 41 years.
His sons, Robert E. Grantham, David and Tina Grantham
(daughter-in-law) and Mike Grantham are all members of Local
533.

DIVERSIFIED INVESTMENT
REMINDER
Bob
Burks is at the Union Hall every Tuesday afternoon
from
1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., and from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. the
first Tuesday of each month, during regular Membership
Meetings. He is available to meet individually with members
who have questions
or who need assistance with their Diversified portfolios. If
you
wish to discuss your portfolio, stop by and visit with Bob,
or give
him a call at 913-451-3545 to schedule an appointment.

- RETIREES
The Pipe Fitter Retirees will meet Wednesday, December 16th
for their annual holiday celebration. Doors open at 11 a.m.
Punch
and other refreshments will proceed the potluck dinner at
noon. The club will again be furnishing the meat as it did
for Thanksgiving (Did you enjoy the turkey?), so members are
asked
to bring a side dish or a salad or dessert. Furnishing your
own tableware is good for the environment. In addition, we
will
continue our annual December collection of canned goods for
Harvesters. THE NEED IS GREAT THIS YEAR, SO PLEASE BE
GENEROUS. Come and enjoy. As always, a special and
hearty invitation is extended to our disabled members, wives
and widows to join us for what's sure to be a good time for
all. See old friends and fellow Pipefitters for first rate
camaraderie and great food.

PIPEFITTERS CONTINUING EDUCATION
All Journeymen interested in continuing
education should contact the Training Center for
details. Classes offered: Backflow
Certification, CAD, Carbon Monoxide Safety and
Awareness, Codes, Green Awareness, Foreman
Training, NFPA70E Safety, Refrigerant 410A
Safety, Rigging, Orbital Welding and OSHA 10 and
30. Backflow Recertification class
will be offered this spring. Backflow
Certification class will begin on Wednesday,
January 6th at 6:00 P.M. Master
Codes class will begin in January. Foreman Training class will begin on Monday,
January 4th at 6:00 P.M. Additional
Journeyman classes will be made available based
on enrollment and schedule. Please contact the

PIPEFITTERS APPRENTICESHIP
PROGRAM
Applications for the Apprenticeship Program are
available on the first Monday of each month, if
that Monday is a holiday, applications will then
be available on the following Monday. An
application can be picked up at the Training
Center from 8:00 A.M. until 4:00 P.M. on the
specified Monday only. An application can be
returned to the Training Center Monday through
Friday from 8:00 A.M. until 4:30 P.M. Anyone
interested in information regarding the Training
Center or the Apprenticeship Program may call
