HARVESTERS
We will be collecting non perishable food items for
Harvesters this year. Collection barrels will be located at
the
Union Hall in the front lobby and lower level. All are
welcome to donate to this worthwhile cause. Harvesters is
Kansas City’s food bank. Covering a 13-county metropolitan
area, Harvesters
provides food and related household products to more than
550
not-for-profit agencies including emergency food pantries,
soup kitchens, homeless shelters, children’s homes, homes
for the mentally disabled and shelters for battered persons

INVESTMENT BASICS SEMINAR – QRTLY MEETING
The next Diversified Education Meeting presented by Bob
Burks is scheduled for Thursday, November 13, 2008, 7-8:00
P.M., at the Union Hall, lower level, 8600 Hillcrest Rd.
Dinner will be served. For members interested in attending,

that Bob Burks is at the Union Hall every Tuesday afternoon
from 1:00 P.M. to 4:30 P.M. and later at Union Meeting held

BACKFLOW
RECERTIFICATION CLASS
The Pipefitters
Training Center is holding a Backflow Recertification class
on Friday, November 21st at 6 PM. Please
call the Training Center to sign up. You may enroll if you
have been expired for six months or will expire within the
next six months. Please call and tell us you want to be
signed up for the Pipefitters Backflow Recert Class.

RETIREES
Our October service awards
meeting was well attended and fun.
We will celebrate
Thanksgiving on Wednesday, November 19th at 12:00
Noon, doors open at 11:00 a.m. The Retirees Club will
furnish the meat and refreshments. For the potluck side of
our retirees' Thanksgiving dinner, you are asked to bring a
side dish
or salad and/or a dessert. In addition we will accept canned
goods which we always collect for Harvesters at our November
and December meetings. Please be generous. We promise you a
great time. Come early and have a good time you’ll be glad
you did.

PIPEFITTERS APPRENTICESHIP
PROGRAM
Applications for the Apprenticeship Program will
only be available on the first Monday of every
month, unless that Monday is a holiday,
applications will then be available on the
following Monday. An application can be picked
up at the Training Center from 8:00 A.M. until
4:00 P.M. on the specified Monday only. An
application can be returned to the Training
Center Monday through Friday from 8:00 A.M.
until 4:30 P.M.. Anyone interested in
information regarding the Training Center or the
Apprenticeship Program may call for information

PIPEFITTERS CONTINUING EDUCATION
Classes will begin September 8. Journeymen may
participate in apprentice classes on a “first
come, first serve” basis due to classroom
limitations. Enrollment in the Foreman
Training class is encouraged. Foreman
Training class will be on Monday beginning
September 8 at 6:00 P.M.. Enrollment in CAD
is encouraged. CAD class will be on Wednesday
beginning September 10 at 6:00 P.M.. First
semester will cover CAD 1; second semester will
cover CAD 2. Additional journeyman classes
(e.g.; 410A Safety, Valve Repair, Orbital,
and OSHA) are available based on enrollment
and schedule. Please contact the Training Center
