Congratulations to the Smith and Walker families.
On Thursday, August 2, 2007 at 3:15 pm Damon and April Walker became the proud parents of a baby girl, Macaiah Nycole Walker. She weighed 7 lbs. 2 oz. and 18 1/2" long.
On Friday, August 3, 2007, at 2:19 pm Steve and Heather Smith became the proud parents of a baby girl, Kaylamae Marie Smith. She weighed 7 lbs. 8 oz. and 19" long.

DEATH BENEFIT NUMBER AT L78 Retired Member, George R. Golitko, 92, from Kansas City, Missouri passed away July 29, 2007. He was initiated May 14, 1962 and retired January 1, 1982 He’s been a member in good standing for 45 years.

REMINDER
Bob Burks is
at the Union Hall every Tuesday afternoon from 1:00 P.M. to
4:30 P.M. and later at Union Meeting held the first Tuesday
night of each month.

GOLF TOURNAMENT
Larry Mitchell's Memorial Golf Tournament will be
held at the Country Creek Golf Club (Hoots Hollow) in
Pleasant Hill, Missouri on Saturday, October 6, 2007, 8:00
A.M. Shot Gun Start. The cost is $50.00 per person (this
includes green fees, cart, lunch, drink tickets and prizes).

- TRAINING CENTER - IMPORTANT NOTICE
The Training Center is in the process of converting
all archived student records to digital images. If you would
like to have the original files from your apprenticeship,
please call and let us know at (816) 761-8800. The originals
will be shredded unless you make other arrangements.
- FIVE YEAR APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM
The Training Center takes applications for the
Apprenticeship program the first Monday of each month from
8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M... If the first Monday is a holiday,
it will be the following Monday. Applications can only be
picked up that Monday, but may be returned any Monday
through Friday between 8:00 A.M. & 4:00 P.M. If you know
anyone interested in applying for the apprenticeship, please
have them call (816) 761-8800 and ask for the information
line where they can get additional information.
- VALVE REPAIR JOURNEYMAN CLASS
The Training Center is looking at running a Valve Repair
Journeyman Class if we have enough participation. For
Journeyman members interested, please call the Training
Center at (816) 761-8800 to sign up.
- ORBITAL WELDING CLASS
The Training Center is looking at running an Orbital
Welding Class if we have enough participation. For members
interested, please call the Training Center at (816)
761-8800 to sign up.
- REFRIGERANT 410A SAFETY TRAINING AND CERTIFICATION
PROGRAM
The Training Center is providing Refrigerant 410A
Training and Certification Classes for members of
Pipefitters LU 533. Please contact the Training Center to
enroll in the class.
- OSHA 10 CLASS
will be offered, please contact the
Training Center at (816) 761-8800 to sign up.
- INFORMATIONAL UPDATES

including email addresses, mobile numbers and pager numbers.
These updates are critical in case of emergencies. Please
note that
our business office will always
notify members of emergency calls from their families, but
we are also dependant on members to update our office with

- RETIREES
We hope all enjoyed the ice cream at our August meeting. The Pipefitter Retirees will meet Wednesday, September 19th at Noon for their usual potluck and meeting. For the potluck you are asked to bring an entree plus a side dish, salad or dessert. We ask that you bring your own table service. Drinks will be provided. We hope to see you there!
