SPECIAL
ORDER OF BUSINESS MEETING
will be on Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at 7:00 P.M., 8600
Hillcrest Rd., Kansas City,
MO, Lower Level. The Election will for one Vice
President and
one Examining Board whose term expires July 7, 2009 will
be
held after the membership meeting Tuesday, February 3,
2009, lower level, United Association Building, 8600
Hillcrest Rd.,
Kansas City, Missouri 64138. Only eligible Journeymen
members
in good standing, who have paid dues through the
month of November 2008, may vote. (Voting will be done
by secret ballot).
And,
in the event of a tie vote and a run off election is
necessary,
a date will be determined and members will be notified.

YEAR END STATEMENTS
The 2008 Year End Membership Statements will become
available and mailed by mid February 2009. The Year End
Statements
cannot be created beforehand until we have all of the
December 2008 hours reported by the Contractors.

MCA/PFAC SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS
Letters for scholarship applications will be mailed to the
active journeyman pipefitters. For members whose sons and
daughters will be graduating from high school in 2009 and
interested in applying for the MCA/PFAC scholarship, please
call the MCA office at (816) 523-3341 or to receive an
official application form, please write to the MCA/PFAC,
9229 Ward Parkway, Suite 270, Kansas City, MO 64114.We ask
that you pick up an application soon, because other
documents are required to accompany the
completed application forms by April 18, 2009.

REMINDER
Bob Burks is at the Union Hall every Tuesday afternoon from 1:00 P.M. to 4:30
P.M. and later at Union Meeting held the first Tuesday night of
each month.

including email addresses, mobile numbers and pager numbers.
These updates are critical in case of emergencies. Please
note that our business office will always
notify members of emergency calls from their families, but
we are also dependant on members to update our office with

- RETIREES
The
Pipe Fitter Retirees meet on January 21, 2009 to celebrate
by enjoying outstanding company and great food. Let’s start
our New Year with a great turn out and the beginning of a
banner year for our retirees, wives, widows and guests. We
will have our potluck dinner at noon sharp. Please bring a
meat or covered dish plus a salad and/or a dessert. Please
also provide your own table service. Doors open at 11:00

PIPEFITTERS CONTINUING EDUCATION
Journeyman classes (e.g.; 410A Refrigerant
Safety, Valve Repair, Orbital, OSHA) are
available based on enrollment and schedule.

PIPEFITTERS APPRENTICESHIP
PROGRAM
Applications for the Apprenticeship Program will
only be available on the first Monday of every
month, unless that Monday is a holiday,
applications will then be available on the
following Monday. An application can be picked
up at the Training Center from 8:00 A.M. until
4:00 P.M. on the specified Monday only. An
application can be returned to the Training
Center Monday through Friday from 8:00 A.M.
until 4:30 P.M.. Anyone interested in
information regarding the Training Center or the
Apprenticeship Program may call for information
