ANNOUNCEMENT
On January 20, 2009, Korry and Carmen Helmick became the
proud parents of a 8 lbs. 2.5 oz. baby boy, Alex at St.
Luke’s North Hospital. He was 20½” long. Alex has an older
sister, 9-year old Cristina. Congratulations!

Phillip Standish, 56, of Tonganoxie Kansas passed away
January
7, 2009. He was initiated March 31, 1995. He’s been a member
for 13 Years.

NEW MEMBERSHIP CARDS
The new 2009/2010 membership cards are in the Pipefitter's
business office. The new cards are given out when the month
of January 2009 dues are paid. We ask that you inspect the
cards and return them to our office for any corrections.

YEAR END STATEMENTS The 2008 Year End Membership Statements will become
available and mailed by mid February 2009. The Year End
Statements cannot be created beforehand until we have all of the
December 2008 hours reported by the Contractors.

MCA/PFAC SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS Letters for scholarship applications will be mailed to the
active journeyman pipefitters. For members whose sons and
daughters will be graduating from high school in 2009 and
interested in applying for the MCA/PFAC scholarship, please
call the MCA office at (816) 523-3341 or to receive an
official application form, please write to the MCA/PFAC,
9229 Ward Parkway, Suite 270, Kansas City, MO 64114.We ask
that you pick up an application soon, because other
documents are required to accompany the completed application forms by April 18, 2009.

REMINDER
Bob Burks is at the Union Hall every Tuesday afternoon from 1:00 P.M. to 4:30
P.M. and later at Union Meeting held the first Tuesday night of
each month.

Please notify the business
office for address, telephone number or beneficiary changes
including email addresses, mobile numbers and pager numbers.
These updates are critical in case of emergencies. Please
note that our business office will always
notify members of emergency calls from their families, but
we are also dependant on members to update our office with
this information. Please send your updated information to
the Pipefitters Business office at 8600 Hillcrest Rd.,

By now members should have received Benefit Alert Letter #14
regarding the change from Freedom Select Network to Blue

- RETIREES
The Pipefitter Retirees will meet on Wednesday, February 18, 2009. We will celebrate Valentine’s Day. Doors open at 11:00
A.M. and Potluck dinner at Noon. Please bring a main dish,
salad or dessert. Drinks will be provided. Also, please
bring your own table service. If you forget, no problem. We

Journeyman classes (e.g.; 410A Refrigerant
Safety, Valve Repair, Orbital, OSHA) are
available based on enrollment and schedule. |

PIPEFITTERS APPRENTICESHIP
PROGRAM
Applications for the Apprenticeship Program will
only be available on the first Monday of every
month, unless that Monday is a holiday,
applications will then be available on the
following Monday. An application can be picked
up at the Training Center from 8:00 A.M. until
4:00 P.M. on the specified Monday only. An
application can be returned to the Training
Center Monday through Friday from 8:00 A.M.
until 4:30 P.M.. Anyone interested in
information regarding the Training Center or the
Apprenticeship Program may call for information
at (816) 761-8800 or check the Training Center
