SPECIAL ORDER
OF BUSINESS
at the regular membership
meeting
on Tuesday, November 6, 2007 at 7:00 P.M., 8600 Hillcrest
Rd., Kansas City, MO, Lower Level.NOMINATIONS
will be accepted at the November 6th Membership
Meeting for one Trustee for the Health & Welfare Fund. The
position will finish Steve Garcia’s remaining two year term,
beginning January 8, 2008.
NOMINATORS
Only eligible Journeymen Pipefitters in good standing, as
provided in Local Union 533's By-Laws and the United
Association Constitution, who have paid dues through the
month of August 2007, prior to 7:00 P.M. on November 6,
2007, are eligible to nominate candidates for the position
listed. Any member who owes or have paid a reinstatement fee
(a late payment penalty) one year prior to the date of the
election will not be eligible to nominate candidates or to
vote at the election.
NOMINEES
Candidates must be in good standing as indicated for
nominators for two years prior to the date of the election
and must accept nominations at the meeting or, in lieu of
being present, candidates can be considered bonafide by
accepting the nominations in writing within five days of the
nomination meeting.
ELECTION DATE
The
date of the Election will be held Tuesday, December 4, 2007
shortly after 7:00 P.M. in the Union Hall, Lower Level -
8600 Hillcrest Rd., Kansas City, Missouri 64138. Only
eligible Journeymen members in good standing, who
have paid dues through the month of September 2007, may
vote.

- DIVERSIFIED INVESTMENT REMINDER
Bob Burks is
at the Union Hall every Tuesday afternoon from 1:00 P.M. to
4:30 P.M. and later at Union Meeting held the first Tuesday
night of each month.
- FIVE YEAR APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM
The Training Center takes applications for the
Apprenticeship program the first Monday of each month from
8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M... If the first Monday is a holiday,
it will be the following Monday. Applications can only be
picked up that Monday, but may be returned any Monday
through Friday between 8:00 A.M. & 4:00 P.M. If you know
anyone interested in applying for the apprenticeship, please
have them call (816) 761-8800 and ask for the information
line where they can get additional information.
- VALVE REPAIR JOURNEYMAN CLASS
The Training Center is looking at running a Valve Repair
Journeyman Class if we have enough participation. For
Journeyman members interested, please call the Training
Center at (816) 761-8800 to sign up.
- ORBITAL WELDING CLASS
The Training Center is looking at running an Orbital
Welding Class if we have enough participation. For members
interested, please call the Training Center at (816)
761-8800 to sign up.
- REFRIGERANT 410A SAFETY TRAINING AND CERTIFICATION
PROGRAM
The Training Center is providing Refrigerant 410A
Training and Certification Classes for members of
Pipefitters LU 533. Please contact the Training Center to
enroll in the class.
- OSHA 10 CLASS
will be offered, please contact the
Training Center at (816) 761-8800 to sign up.
- INFORMATIONAL UPDATES
Please notify the business
office for address, telephone number or beneficiary changes
including email addresses, mobile numbers and pager numbers.
These updates are critical in case of emergencies. Please
note that
our business office will always
notify members of emergency calls from their families, but
we are also dependant on members to update our office with
this information. Please send your updated information to

RETIREES
The Pipe Fitter Retirees will meet on Wednesday, October 17, 2007. We will host the Service Awards for the Retired Members at this luncheon. Let's have a great turnout to honor these awardees for their years of service to our trade and Local Union. A covered dish and a salad and/or a dessert are requested for the potluck dinner. The doors are open by 11:00 a.m. and lunch will be at noon. Please provide your own table service. All retirees, awardees, wives, widows and guests are urged to attend. See old friends and fellow pipefitters for first rate camaraderie and great food. See You There!
