Our sincere condolences to the families of our brother
members who have passed.
DEATH BENEFIT NUMBER AT M36
Retired member, Franklin D. McKinzie, 77, of Topeka, Kansas
passed away May 23, 2010. He was initiated October 5, 1964
and retired March 6, 1990. He’s been a member for 45 years.
His son, Brian McKinzie is a pipefitter and member of local
533.

REMINDER
Bob
Burks is at the Union Hall every Tuesday afternoon
from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., and from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. the
first Tuesday of each month, during regular Membership
Meetings. He is available to meet individually with members
who have questions or who need assistance with their Diversified portfolios. If
you wish to discuss your portfolio, stop by and visit with Bob,
or give him a call at 913-451-3545 to schedule an appointment.

- RETIREES
The Pipe Fitter Retirees will meet the third Wednesday,
June 16th,
at
the union hall, lower level. Doors open at 11:00 a.m. and
Lunch served at Noon. Our potluck will feature the always
popular “CRAPPIE FRY”. A grill will be furnished for anyone
who may prefer to bring their own hamburgers or hot dogs and
prepare them there. A vegetable plus a salad and/or a
dessert and your
own place settings, drinks will be provided. The always
popular BINGO will be played; cash prizes and great Baseball
tickets with parking passes will be given away. A special
invitation is extended to our disabled members to attend
along with retirees, wives, widows and guests for great food
and company. See you there!

Training Center for details. Classes
include: Backflow Certification, CAD, Carbon
Monoxide Safety & Awareness, Codes, Green
Awareness, Foreman Training, NFPA70E Safety,
Refrigerant 410A Safety, Rigging, Orbital
Welding, High Purity Piping Installation &
Brazing and OSHA 10 & 30. Additional classes
will be made available based on enrollment
and schedule.

PIPEFITTERS APPRENTICESHIP
PROGRAM Applications for the Apprenticeship Program are
available on the first Monday of each month, if
that Monday is a holiday, applications will then
be available on the following Monday. An
application can be picked up at the Training
Center from 8:00 A.M. until 4:00 P.M. on the
specified Monday only. An application can be
returned to the Training Center Monday through
Friday from 8:00 A.M. until 4:30 P.M. Anyone
interested in information regarding the Training
Center or the Apprenticeship Program may call
