Our sincere condolence to the family of our brother member
who has passed.
DEATH BENEFIT NUMBER AT L85
Arthur E. Keller, Sr., 81, from Bonner Springs, Kansas
passed away November 28, 2007. He was initiated May 1, 1967
and retired June 1, 1989. He’s been a member in good
standing for 40 Years.

CHRISTMAS
PARTY The Annual Christmas party with Santa is on again. Please
join us on Sunday, December 9th 2007 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00
p.m. at the Union Hall, lower level. Bring your cameras.
There will be clowns and balloons. The Local will provide
snacks (hot dogs, nachos, chili, popcorn, cookies, pop,
coffee)…….. and treats for the kids. Hope to see all of you
there!

MCA/PFAC
SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS
Letters for scholarship applications
should have been mailed in
November to the active journeyman pipefitters. For members=
sons or daughters who will be graduating from high school in
2008 and interested in applying for the MCA/PFAC
scholarship, please call the MCA office at (816) 523-3341 or
to receive an official application form, please write to the
MCA/PFAC, 9229 Ward Parkway, Suite 270, Kansas City, MO
64114.We ask that you pick up an application soon, because
other documents are required to accompany the completed
application forms by March 15, 2008.

DIVERSIFIED INVESTMENT
REMINDER Bob Burks is at the Union Hall every
Tuesday afternoon from 1:00 P.M. to 4:30 P.M. and later at
Union Meeting held the first Tuesday night of each month.
- FIVE YEAR APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM
The Training Center takes applications for the
Apprenticeship program the first Monday of each month from
8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M... If the first Monday is a holiday,
it will be the following Monday. Applications can only be
picked up that Monday, but may be returned any Monday
through Friday between 8:00 A.M. & 4:00 P.M. If you know
anyone interested in applying for the apprenticeship, please
have them call (816) 761-8800 and ask for the information
line where they can get additional information.
TOPICS QUALIFYING AS PIPE FITTER CONTINUING EDUCATION
- VALVE REPAIR JOURNEYMAN CLASS
The Training Center is looking at running a Valve Repair
Journeyman Class if we have enough participation. For
Journeyman members interested, please call the Training
Center at (816) 761-8800 to sign up.
ORBITAL WELDING CLASS The Training Center is looking at running an Orbital
Welding Class if we have enough participation. For members
interested, please call the Training Center at (816)
761-8800 to sign up.
REFRIGERANT 410A SAFETY TRAINING AND CERTIFICATION
PROGRAM The Training Center is providing Refrigerant 410A
Training and Certification Classes for members of
Pipefitters LU 533. Please contact the Training Center to
enroll in the class.
OSHA 10 CLASS will be offered, please contact the
Training Center at (816) 761-8800 to sign up.
INFORMATIONAL UPDATES Please notify the business
office for address, telephone number or beneficiary changes
including email addresses, mobile numbers and pager numbers.
These updates are critical in case of emergencies. Please
note that
our business office will always
notify members of emergency calls from their families, but
we are also dependant on members to update our office with
this information. Please send your updated information to

RETIREES
The Pipe Fitter Retirees will meet December 19th
for their annual holiday celebration. Doors open at 11 a.m.
Punch and other refreshments will proceed the potluck dinner
at noon. The club will again be furnishing the meat as it
did for Thanksgiving (Did you enjoy the turkey?), so members
are asked to bring a side dish or a salad or dessert.
Furnishing your own tableware is good for the environment.
In addition we will accept canned goods which we
always collect for Harvesters at our November and December
meetings.
Please be
generous.
Come and
enjoy. As always, a special and hearty invitation is
extended to our disabled members, wives and widows to join
